What is your current AYPO ensemble?

AYP

What AYPO ensembles have you played in and for how long?

AYP (2022 - 2023), AYSO (2021 - 2022), and AYSE (2018 - 2019).

Your advice for young musicians?

Appreciate the time you have with the people around you right now because you might not ever see them again.

What college/university do you plan on attending this fall?

Brown University, Computer Science and Chemistry.

A favorite, or memorable AYPO experience?

When somebody's phone was ringing backstage during the first concert this season.

What do you hope to do after graduation or your more long-term goals?

After high school, I plan on primarily studying Computer Science to strengthen my skills as a software engineer. I dream of eventually becoming a CTO (chief technology officer) for a startup company. However, throughout college, I also plan on taking a plethora of courses outside of CS that I find intriguing. In particular, I look forward to diving further into the branch of chemistry or studying documentary production and video editing.

What musician, conductor, or orchestra inspires you and why?

One musician that inspires me significantly is violinist Zayd Khan. Despite being stand partners, Zayd is much more skilled than me as a musician. He is disciplined, talented, and overall a well-rounded violinist. No matter the piece, Zayd always plays with focus and attention, and his playing has motivated me to improve as a violinist.
