What is your current AYPO ensemble?

AYP, Chamber Ensemble, & Music Buddies Mentor

What AYPO ensembles have you played in and for how long?

AYSE 2016-18, AYCO 2018-19, AYSO 2019-20, AYP 2020-2023, AYPO Chamber Ensemble 2021-23, and AYPO Music Buddies 2021-23

Your advice for young musicians?

Listen to Sticky Notes podcast episodes on any pieces you play if they are available. Learning about the history and understanding the structure of the music makes rehearsals that much more interesting and enjoyable!

What college/university do you plan on attending this fall?

University of Virginia, Neuroscience and Music

A favorite, or memorable AYPO experience?

Playing Tchaikovsky’s 4th Symphony at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall during the NSO side-by-side, which included dodging a droplet of Maestro Noseda’s sweat!

What do you hope to do after graduation or your more long-term goals?

I hope to go into neuroscience research or the medical field. I’ll definitely continue playing in orchestras and chamber groups throughout college and beyond!

What musician, conductor, or orchestra inspires you and why?

My high school orchestra director Allison Bailey inspires me because of how she makes us as excited as she is to dive into a piece of music, all with the best sense of humor. Studying under her for four years was truly one of the highlights of my high school experience.
