AYPO Musician Recent Successes (Fall 2023)

Joshua Thrush (AYP Bass) - Was accepted into the New York String Orchestra Seminar (NYSOS). Joshua is one of three high schoolers accepted and will spend nine days in December at the pre-professional training program hosted by the Mannes School of Music.

Justin Kijun Lee (AYSE Cello) & James Post (AYSE Violin) - Performed at the National Gallery of Art in the Winner’s Recital for the Misbin Competition hosted by Levine School of Music. Called, “The Quantum Trio,” Justin and James played Beethoven Piano Trio in E-Flat Major Op. 1, with pianist, William Hseish.

Chloe Kim (AYDO Violin) - Placed 2nd in the Peewee String Division at the AAMS International Music Competition.
Connor Kim (AYSE Piano) - Received an Honorable Mention in the Junior Piano Division at the AAMS International Music Competition.

Nicholas Sahn Kim (AYSO Violin) - Was selected by the Frost Middle School Orchestra director to perform a solo with the Chamber Orchestra this past May.
