The Junior Chamber Ensemble Program is for talented string musicians who are enrolled in the American Youth Concert Orchestra (AYCO). Ensembles are formed based on the applicant's video audition and instrument, and at the discretion of the artistic and administrative staff. The program gives musicians the opportunity to perform and work on performance practice for chamber music under the guidance of professional instructors. Coaches work with each group of student musicians weekly and help prepare them to participate in public performance opportunities throughout the season.

AYCO string musicians interested in the Junior Chamber Ensemble Program should indicate interest when prompted on the standard audition application. Acceptances for the Junior Chamber Ensemble Program are released later than the standard audition acceptances.
